Nestled alongside the Port of Yokohama, the Port of Kawasaki plays
an important role in international shipping. An average of seven or eight large foreign
container vessels enter or leave the port each day. Some ninety-eight million tons of
freight passes through the port every year.
Exports are primarily electrical, machinery and chemical products. Imports mainly consist
of petroleum products and coal.
